What We Buy

We Buy Every Type of Pallet

Unlike buyers who cherry-pick only top-grade standard pallets, we purchase pallets of virtually every type, material, size, and condition. If it was once a pallet, we want to hear from you.

GMA 48x40 Pallets

The industry standard Grocery Manufacturers Association pallet. We buy these in any condition, from pristine Grade A units to broken boards. This is the most commonly used pallet in North America, and we purchase thousands of them weekly.

Euro Pallets (EUR/EPAL)

European standard pallets measuring 800mm x 1200mm. Commonly found in businesses importing European goods. We accept all conditions and pay competitive rates for these increasingly sought-after units.

Custom & Oversized Pallets

Non-standard sizes including 42x42, 48x48, 36x36, and oversized units up to 72x72 inches. Many pallet buyers turn these away, but we purchase specialty sizes at fair market value because our recycling and refurbishment capabilities allow us to repurpose or resize them.

Plastic Pallets

HDPE and polypropylene pallets in any condition. We accept nestable, stackable, rackable, and export-grade plastic pallets. Damaged plastic pallets are recycled into pellets for manufacturing new products.

Damaged & Broken Pallets

Even pallets that look like they belong in a dumpster have value. Broken boards, split stringers, missing components: we accept it all. Our dismantling and recycling operations recover usable lumber, hardware, and raw materials from even the most damaged units.

All Wood Species

Southern yellow pine, oak, maple, poplar, spruce, Douglas fir: we buy pallets made from every wood species commonly used in pallet construction. Hardwood pallets and softwood pallets are both accepted and valued appropriately based on species, condition, and current market demand.

Our Grading System

Transparent Grading, Fair Pricing

Every pallet we buy is graded using our standardized four-tier system. This ensures consistent, fair pricing and eliminates any confusion about how the value of your pallets was determined.

Grade A - Premium

Highest buyback value

Like-new pallets with minimal cosmetic wear. No broken boards, no protruding nails, no significant staining. These command the highest buyback prices and are typically resold directly to businesses that need pristine presentation for retail display, export shipments, or clean-room environments.

Grade Criteria:

  • No broken or missing boards
  • All nails flush and secure
  • Minimal staining or cosmetic marks
  • Full structural integrity
  • Consistent sizing within tolerance
  • Ready for immediate resale

Grade B - Standard

Strong buyback value

Good condition pallets showing normal wear from typical use. May have minor cosmetic blemishes, slight discoloration, or small surface marks, but all boards are intact and the pallet is fully functional. This is the most common grade we purchase, representing the bulk of used pallets in circulation.

Grade Criteria:

  • Structurally sound and functional
  • Minor cosmetic wear acceptable
  • All boards present and attached
  • May have slight discoloration
  • Suitable for warehousing and general shipping
  • Minor repairs may be performed before resale

Grade C - Economy

Moderate buyback value

Economy pallets showing significant signs of use. May have darkened wood, rough surfaces, or minor board damage, but the overall structure remains capable of carrying standard loads. These pallets are typically repaired and refurbished before being resold at budget-friendly prices.

Grade Criteria:

  • Visible wear and aging
  • May need minor board replacement
  • Structural capacity maintained
  • Ideal for one-way shipping use
  • Repaired and refurbished for resale
  • Cost-effective solution for buyers

Grade D - Recycling

Material recovery value

Pallets that are beyond practical repair but still contain valuable recoverable materials. Broken stringers, multiple missing boards, split components. We purchase these for dismantling and material recovery. Usable lumber is salvaged for repairs, and the rest becomes mulch, wood chips, or biomass fuel.

Grade Criteria:

  • Significant structural damage
  • Not suitable for reuse as-is
  • Valuable lumber still recoverable
  • Hardware recycled separately
  • Wood processed into mulch or fuel
  • Diverted from landfill waste
Pricing Transparency

How We Determine Your Pallet Value

We believe in complete pricing transparency. Here are the six factors that determine what we pay for your pallets. Every quote we provide breaks these elements down so you understand exactly how we arrived at the number.

1

Size & Type

Standard GMA 48x40 pallets are the most liquid and command the best prices. Euro pallets and custom sizes are valued based on current market demand for those specific dimensions. Oversized pallets may carry a premium depending on lumber content.

2

Condition & Grade

The condition of your pallets is the single biggest factor in pricing. Grade A pallets earn the highest per-unit rates, while Grade D pallets are valued primarily for their material content. Our grading system is transparent and consistent.

3

Material & Species

Hardwood pallets (oak, maple) generally command higher prices than softwood (pine, spruce) due to their durability and demand. Plastic pallets are priced based on polymer type and regrind value. Metal pallets carry scrap metal market value.

4

Quantity

Volume matters. Selling 1,000 pallets earns you a significantly better per-unit rate than selling 50. Our volume bonuses reward businesses with larger quantities because consolidated pickups reduce our logistics costs, and we pass those savings to you.

5

Location

Your proximity to our processing facilities and routes affects logistics costs. Businesses within our core service area (Oregon, Washington, California) receive the best net pricing. We serve all 10 western states with competitive rates.

6

Market Conditions

Pallet prices fluctuate with lumber commodity markets, seasonal demand, and regional supply. We provide real-time quotes that reflect current market conditions, ensuring you always get a fair price relative to what the market will bear.

How It Works

Our 5-Step Buying Process

Selling pallets to us is straightforward and hassle-free. Here is exactly how the process works from your first call to receiving payment.

1

Contact Us

Reach out through our website form or send an email. Share basic details about the pallets you have available: approximate type, quantity, condition, and your location. This initial contact typically takes less than 5 minutes.

We respond to all inquiries within 2 hours during business hours.

2

Inspection & Assessment

Our team evaluates your pallets either through an on-site visit or through photos you provide. We assess condition, dimensions, material type, and quantity to determine the appropriate grade for each batch. On-site inspections are always free and carry no obligation.

For quantities over 500 pallets, we always conduct on-site assessments.

3

Transparent Quote

Based on the assessment, we provide a detailed, transparent offer broken down by grade and quantity. Our quote includes the per-pallet rate, total value, pickup logistics, and payment timeline. No hidden fees, no deductions, no surprises.

Quotes are valid for 7 days and reflect current market conditions.

4

Scheduled Pickup

You accept the offer, and we schedule a pickup at a time that works for your operations. Our trucks arrive on time with the equipment needed to load pallets efficiently. We handle all the heavy lifting. You just point us to the pallets.

Flexible scheduling including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

5

Fast Payment

Once pallets are picked up and verified, payment is processed according to your preferred terms. Choose from Net 15, Net 30, or COD (cash on delivery) options. Regular sellers can set up recurring payment schedules for ongoing buyback programs.

ACH direct deposit, check, or wire transfer payment methods available.

Volume & Logistics

No Minimum, No Maximum

We do not impose strict minimum volume requirements. Whether you have 20 pallets from a small business clearout or 20,000 pallets from a distribution center overhaul, our buying program accommodates every scale.

That said, larger volumes do earn better per-unit rates due to the logistical efficiency of consolidated pickups. Here is a general guideline for volume tiers:

1-100 pallets:Standard buyback rates. May be coordinated with existing route pickups for best pricing.
100-500 pallets:Volume bonus applied. Dedicated pickup scheduled at your convenience.
500-2,000 pallets:Enhanced per-unit rates. Priority scheduling with flexible timing windows.
2,000-10,000 pallets:Best per-unit pricing tier. Multi-truck pickups coordinated with dedicated account manager.
10,000+ pallets:Custom contract rates. Ongoing buyback programs with guaranteed pricing and scheduled recurring pickups.

Pickup Logistics

We come to you. Our fleet of flatbed trucks and trailers is equipped to handle pallet pickups of any size, and our drivers are trained to load efficiently without disrupting your operations.

  • Free pickup at your facility, every time
  • Flexible scheduling: mornings, evenings, weekends
  • Loading equipment provided (forklifts, pallet jacks)
  • Same-day pickup available for urgent situations

We offer flexible payment terms designed to work with your business needs:

Net 15

Payment within 15 days of verified pickup. Our most popular option for regular sellers.

Net 30

Payment within 30 days. Available for established accounts with consistent volume.

Environmental Impact

Selling to Us vs. Sending to Landfill

Every pallet that ends up in a landfill represents wasted resources: the trees that were harvested, the energy used to manufacture it, and the space it occupies indefinitely. When you sell your pallets to Pallets Eco, you are choosing the sustainable path.

We ensure that 95% or more of every pallet is recovered, either through repair and resale, dismantling for usable lumber, or processing into mulch, biomass fuel, or other secondary products. The only thing that goes to waste is waste itself.

Case Study

How Pacific Ridge Warehousing Turned Pallet Waste Into $85,000 Annual Revenue

$85,000
Annual Revenue from Pallet Sales
$32,000
Previously Spent on Disposal
$117,000
Total Annual Impact (Revenue + Savings)

The Challenge: Pacific Ridge Warehousing, a mid-size 3PL operation in Portland, OR, was accumulating approximately 8,000 used pallets per month. They were paying a waste hauler $32,000 annually to remove and dispose of them, and the pallet pile was still growing faster than it could be removed.

The Solution: Pallets Eco implemented a bi-weekly buyback program. Our team assessed their pallet stream and found that 40% were Grade A/B (directly resaleable), 35% were Grade C (repairable), and 25% were Grade D (recyclable). We set up scheduled pickups every other Tuesday and provided sorting guidelines for their warehouse team.

The Result: In the first year, Pacific Ridge earned $85,000 in pallet buyback revenue while simultaneously eliminating their $32,000 annual disposal cost. The net financial impact was $117,000 per year. Additionally, they recovered over 2,400 square feet of warehouse space previously used for pallet storage, and their sustainability report showed 96 tons of wood diverted from landfills.

What Our Sellers Say

We had over 3,000 pallets piling up behind our warehouse and were quoted $8,000 by a waste hauler to have them removed. Pallets Eco came in, assessed everything, and paid us $12,500 for the lot. We went from a cost center to a profit center overnight. Now they pick up every two weeks on a recurring schedule.

Robert Huang

Warehouse Manager, Summit Logistics Group

The transparency of their grading and pricing is what won us over. Every quote is broken down so clearly that there is never any question about how the value was calculated. In two years of working together, they have never missed a pickup and payment always arrives on time. A reliable partner in every sense.

Amanda Torres

Operations Director, Redwood Manufacturing Co.

As a produce distributor, our pallet turnover is massive during harvest season. Pallets Eco handles the surge without any issues, picking up 5,000+ pallets per week during peak months and scaling back in the off-season. Their flexibility with seasonal volume changes is unmatched.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about selling your pallets to Pallets Eco.

What is the minimum number of pallets you will buy?

There is no strict minimum. We have purchased as few as 20 pallets from small businesses. However, for quantities under 50, it may be more cost-effective to coordinate your pallets with a nearby pickup route. Our team will work with you to find the most practical arrangement regardless of quantity.

How quickly can you pick up my pallets?

For standard requests, we typically schedule pickups within 2-3 business days of accepting our quote. For urgent situations or businesses on our existing routes, same-day or next-day pickup is often available. We understand that warehouse space is valuable, and we work to get pallets off your dock as quickly as possible.

Do I need to sort or stack my pallets before pickup?

No sorting is required on your end. While organized, stacked pallets do speed up the loading process, our crews are fully equipped to handle loose, scattered, or mixed pallets. We sort everything at our facility. If pallets are accessible by forklift, that is all we need.

How do you determine the price for my pallets?

Pricing is based on a combination of factors: pallet type and size, condition grade (A through D), material species, quantity, your location relative to our routes, and current lumber market conditions. We provide a detailed breakdown so you understand exactly how the price was determined. Our pricing is competitive and transparent.

Can I set up a recurring buyback program?

Absolutely. Many of our clients have ongoing buyback agreements where we pick up pallets on a regular schedule, whether weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Recurring sellers benefit from priority scheduling, consistent pricing agreements, and higher per-unit rates due to the operational efficiency of regular routes.

Do you buy pallets that have been chemically treated?

Yes, we accept chemically treated pallets, including those stamped with MB (methyl bromide). However, these pallets are handled differently due to environmental regulations. They cannot be resold for food-contact use but can be recycled for non-food industrial applications or processed into biomass fuel. Pricing for chemically treated pallets may differ from standard heat-treated or untreated units.

What payment methods do you offer?

We offer ACH direct deposit, company check, and wire transfer. Payment terms include COD (cash on delivery at pickup), Net 15 (payment within 15 days of pickup), and Net 30 (payment within 30 days). For new accounts, we typically start with COD or Net 15 and can extend terms as the relationship develops.
